This week we finished up notes on evolution and natural selection and will be quizzing on Wednesday and Thursday. Students were given a review packet and study guide to help study.
After the test, students will begin the word wall for ecology. In the ecology unit students will learn how organisms interact with each other in an environment. We will look at food chains versus food webs and classify organisms as either producers, consumers, or decomposers.
Students will also use this information to show how nutrients cycle through the environment and are used by both plants and animals. The nutrients we will study are Carbon and Nitrogen and how those nutrients contribute to the health of the environment.
This will be the last unit covered in biology before students take the MCAS exam on June 1 and 2.
