Week 9

This week we began notes on the cell membrane and transport through it. The types of transport we are learning about are: Diffusion, Osmosis, Facilitated Diffusion, and Active Transport.

The students are creating a cell using a paper plate that will help them visualize the organelles in the cell and how the cell membrane is arranged along the outside of the cell. Protein molecules are found in the cell membrane that form a bridge between the inside and outside of the cell.

Students will then move on to the organelles found on the inside of the cell and research their functions. Students will need to know the functions of the organelles found in the cell and how they help the cell work together to do its job.
